Rock is dead. The music industry is dead when a top touring guitarist is lucky to get $800 per show! It's over there is no incentive at all, playing in our basement as a hobby. It's about it ! The electric guitar will end up as popular as accordions!! 😢

My oldest is a 67 Strat but with Fenders, it's hard to tell because they used components from different production years on the same guitar. The neck is coded to 69, the neck plate to 67. I have a 72 Goldtop Deluxe which I've owned since 75, love that guitar. Right before I bought the Deluxe, I had a 60s something SG in cherry and it was finish checked to hell and back. Back then I thought it was too beat up to keep and I thought the neck was chunky....arrgh! What it would be worth now!

Levi, your guitars look like baby poop. How much talent does it take to use a screwdriver and sandpaper and call it art? Why can't you just make a beautiful guitar? You have no idea how many people laugh at these crap guitars. Posers who have money but won't put in the time to put honest wear on a guitar. Total disrespect for Fender guitars. People on the Fender Facebook page laugh at these monstrosities. I have a chain and a lawn tractor and a cement driveway. If people want to send me their guitar, return shipping and $100 I will make your guitar look like this. HA.

I have a Crate VC508 5 watt tube amp, about 20 years old. It has considerably more power and crunch than most other 5 watt tube amps, the poweramp runs on one and a half tubes instead of the usual one tube. The preamp uses half a tube and also solid state, but the s.s. harshness can be eliminated by using the FX loop feature (which most people don't know it has because it's the Line Out jack doing double duty, not marked as FX Loop). I regularly see these for under $200 including tax and shipping. More than one reviewer has said that it is basically a Fender Champ on steroids.

@johnbriggs3916 this plays well to the youtube algorithm though, it's short form content that's very stripped down and will draw from an audience that are likely fender enthusiasts that don't know about Casino guitars. The quality of the video and audio is outstanding. This is how you grow a youtube page, with content like this, but I myself would love it to have been an hour long and with Baxter in frame because I can never get enough Casino!

I saw Chicago AKA CTA in 1969 at the Whiskey A Go Go live I was in the front part of the Dance Floor area best live band I've ever seen and I've seen most of them k a t h came out of the Wings when nobody else was on stage except the Roadie nailing the drum kit to the wooden floor and he was driving around snapping his fingers and playing Octopus's Garden. The other person in the band that really impressed me was Peter Cetera the bass player incredible timing and singing. Anyway back to Kathy was playing through a stack of sun acoustic amps he would utilize the volume knob in a very Dynamic way to increase or decrease the output of sound it would blow his hair around

Mark agnesi showed uo with leather jacket with metal studs and buttons, his belt buckle, and his fist full of rings, and picked up the most expensive guitar, and ran his hands uo and down the neck, where the audbile clicking of his rings and jewelry and deuchbagery was heard by all before he sat down and rubbed his belt buckle all over it. Cant stand that dude when hes touching all them old guitars like in the gibson "collection" videos. He seems like a cool dude, part of me likes him,but he has such deuchy vibes he gives off with the things he says and does

After the 30 day return period is up and the gear is officially ours(no chance of returning for a FULL refund), then it just becomes our gear. Now, I can only speak on guitars that cost under $4000, perhaps if I bought a Les Paul Custom, Custom Shop Fender, or a D45, I would probably baby those…. But then again, probably not

Finally PRS makes a lovely guitar for those who cannot spend $$$ ! All guitars can play all genres... tone, tone, tone ..and with the push/pull feature, that can easily happen !

I have a 1986 which I purchased new on 04/01/1987 in Edgeware Road London. I still have the tie on tag with the Japanese initials. It was marked up as a 30th anniversary 1957. It has a single laminate scratch board pick up board, and has STD 57 beside the truss rod adjuster nut. All original except the graphite nut, as the original on cracked in half on the 3rd slot. I love it, I play it through a hand built by myself Princeton Reverb.

I’m down under and have used a Jazzmaster pretty much exclusively for the last decade since getting one in 2013. I record with one a lot, love the midrange articulation, and use it in two Big Bands I play with. What a Jazzmaster for Jazz? Yep works perfectly. It also means, on the crowded stages you often find yourself, that if someone knocks the guitar off the stand there’s no costly neck break. I have a lovely 175 but to be honest the JM does the job just fine. My songs are more Americana roots based and the different pick up configuration mean it’s perfect for that genre as well. If you look at a lot of studio musicians from the 60s you’ll see many Jazzmasters in use. I get it I think their versatility is unmatched in Fender guitars. I use flat wound strings on mine.

Bottom line ... try out a bunch of guitars .... the one that agrees with your fretting hand the most, that is the ideal neck shape for your hand. When I tried the Fender Player Series Telecaster, I could not believe how great that felt in my fretting hand. Not perfect ... but so much better than the neck on my Tele. I have a 2010 Epi Dot with that chunky D shape neck, and the shoulders are too much. I am going to be shaving them down soon. I have the Modern C template as a reference. There have been guitars I've borrowed from friends over the years that I could play for hours. One was a Washburn 12 string. Such a breeze to play. My Martin D35 12 string has always been a beast ....

I tried not to buy a guitar this year by getting a couple of amplifiers instead. Later, I started putting together a pedalboard, which turned into two pedalboards within a few weeks. I ordered my second guitar of the month yesterday, and just lost a dollar bet to a friend & coworker over me not buying another guitar. I’m starting to think that my gambling problem is getting worse.
